Clonmellon is a small village located in County Westmeath in the province of Leinster. The Irish translation is Raistin, you can read the history of the name here.
We are a small village officially in County Westmeath although we are on the border with County Meath, Ireland. Our village is situated on the N52 road between Kells in County Meath and Delvin in County Westmeath.
Clonmellon is just one hour from Dublin and is home to approximately 1600 people. We have many local attractions in and around our beautiful village and we are home to the annual Potato Festival.
The village is steeped in history and it has been said Clonmellon was home to Sir Walter Raleigh (father of the humble potato)
